How to a view a horse’s history

There are several ways to get to view a horse’s history. Your choice depends on what information you know.

From a Race Card (Type A, Type B or Type C) or a Result

Click on horse's name

Click on the horse’s name. 

Search using the horse's name

  1. Click on the search icon.
  2. Type in any part of the horses name, e.g. if you are looking for “LOUIS THE KING”, then

    1. Type “louis” or “the king” or “louis the k”
    2. The less you type the more horses will be found and displayed
    3. This partial name search is useful if you do not have the exact spelling of the horse
  3. Click Go
  4. From the list of horses displayed click on the horse’s name whose history you want to view

If you know the sire's name

  1. Click “Breeding”
  2. In the “Look for Sires” box type in any part of the sire’s name you know, e.g. “Black Minnaloushe” (you may also just type in “Minnal”)
  3. Select the country or “All Countries” on top left
  4. Click Search
  5. From the list of sires you now may click:
    1. History – to get the history of this sire’s progeny
    2. Carded – to see which of this sire’s progeny are carded to run
  6. If you chose “History” then you may select one of the progeny e.g. “LOUIS THE KING” to see that progeny’s history
  7. If you chose “Carded” then you have many more choices if that sire has horses that are carded. You may:
    1. Click on a progeny to see that progeny’s history
    2. You may view the racecard by clicking on a date or venue name
    3. You may view the jockey’s history by clicking on the jockey’s name
    4. You may view the trainer’s history by clicking on the trainer’s name

If you know the Dam's name

Follow the exact same procedure as for Sire’s search but choose “Look for Dams”. 

You can even find a horse via a breeder

  1. Click on “Breeding”
  2. Type any part of the breeder’s name, e.g. “The Alchemy” or any part of that name.
  3. The history of horses bred by that breeder, will be shown
  4. Note: The history display may be expanded by choosing a higher number “Show the last” selection list.
  5. Now you may select the horse to view it’s history
  6. Note: Other useful information is also available
